A poem I wrote. Enjoy.
Faith acting without reason
believing without thought
for free thought is treason
and salvation is bought
not always with money or gifts
but with thought, reason, and progress
a simple answer to all our what ifs
as they obsess,profess,and oppress
we sit and watch them rule
with an iron fist and kind eyes
infiltrating your children’s school
thoughts of hell fire as he cries
but that’s ok
at least it is with faith
because its there way
an acceptable wraith
a ghost of an evil past
intelligence and freedom degrade
a world without room for contrast
smiles as they set on there polite crusade
killing with kindness and corrupting youth
threatening there very “souls”
keeping them from finding there own truth
creating instead of filling holes
leaving them praying instead of doing
simple answers to complicated question
content with death instead of the life they should be pursuing
happy with the earths imminent regression
Without god i am alive
without god there is no one to “damn”
without god i thrive
without god i am
live life for its beauty
be kind because we must
think because its our duty
in reason we trust

Currently, all green backs have the words In God We Trust printed on them. This ubiquitous statement has come to be known as our national motto, circa 1956, when it replaced E Pluribus Unum(Translates to ‘Out of many, one’). This change was made during the cold war, when fear and propaganda were at the height of dissemination, and serves only to divide us as a nation.
A great many citizens of the United States follow non-theistic or poly-theistic faiths, or are simply atheist, and believe the national governments recognition of a deity to be in violation of the first amendment. As such, we ask that the national motto be restored to E Pluribus Unum and replaced on all green backs.
